My project is aimed at providing students with a variety of online, hands-on learning tools.
Students will use these requested Dell Chromebooks to access online graphing tools to help them visualize relationships between functions and graphs. Students will be able to analyze how changes in algebraic functions affect their corresponding table of values, graphs, critical points, and key features such as slopes, intercepts, concavity, domain, and range. If students can explore multiple representations of graphs, analyze patterns, make inferences and verify them, they will become active learners and critical thinkers.
Your donation will also enable students to take online formative assessments that give them immediate feedback and customized help depending on their skill level. The Chromebooks will also be helpful for those who do not have internet access at home. Our school has iPads and Chromebook carts, but they are being shared by multiple teachers and used for periodic testing.
Moreover, students who will pursue higher math classes in their junior or senior years will likely benefit from multiple online tools for learning in the classroom. They will learn how to identify and use tools strategically, model mathematical problems through online simulation tools, particularly in Statistics and Probability.
