I teach in an urban setting in an unincorporated area where over 90% of my students receive free lunch. It is a constant challenge to provide my students access to high quality materials in this era of continuing budget cuts. Many parents work at least two jobs to support their families and have very little free time to help in the classroom. Children in my classroom have few if any books in the home and seldom are exposed to technology.
