We are a public choice school in Concord, CA with students from throughout the district. Parents and the community have committed to supporting their child's education by volunteering their time in and outside of the school and making education a priority. We are a supportive, cooperative community, which perhaps is one of the reasons we are one of the top performing public schools in California. However, we rely on time and energy, not money. Our wait lists are getting longer, and our school is becoming more and more diverse, which just widens the students' needs and abilities. They speak more than twenty-seven languages within the school and in just my class we have children who speak English, Spanish, Japanese, Urdu, and Russian. With more kids being diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum, etc., our need to teach tolerance and acceptance is a necessity.
