My students spend a half hour each day on their laptops to receive literacy and mathematics instruction on their individual acedmeic level. Each student is doing a different lesson, that is targeted to meet their needs. Therefore, it is extremely difficult for them to focus on their lesson when there are 16 different things playing in the background! Also, in the state of Ohio, students are required to pass an online assessment that evaluates their reading skills. Having headphone for my students will help increase their focus. It can potentially increase their academic success because they will be able to better internalize the information they are receiving. They will also have the needed materials in order to take the AIR assessment!
