Our school has approximately 600 students, KDG through sixth grade, with a diverse population. We are currently at 60.84% of our students receiving free and/or reduced lunch.
My homeroom is a group of loving and thoughtful children. They each come to school eager to learn and are especially eager to learn using today's technology.
Each morning my students begin their day with a Morning Love Note From the Teacher which is located on our classroom Smart Board. In this note, I encourage them to continue to be generous and compassionate individuals and to be sure to share a smile with others.
At the end of the day we share/discuss how many people we helped smile today.
On Mondays, each student sets a personal goal for the week and documents it in his/her planner. On Fridays, we celebrate our successes with our personal goal and our highlights of the week. It is not uncommon to hear "She made me smile!" or "I had so much fun!"
