STEM has become the new norm. In most of today's professions, some sort of STEM experience is required. I am trying to fully prepare my students for the future. I would like to incorporate STEM in my classroom on a daily basis. I would like to make sure my students are ready for the improved competitiveness in science and technology. I am asking for an iPad Air, a STEM careers book set, a KNEX Building Simple Machines kit, a STEM Challenge kit, and other STEM supplies.
My project will help prepare my students' for most future jobs. Robotics is not only building robots but also programming them. The iPad Air will allow my students to be able to program the robots and be mobile at the same time and will be apart of the T - technology. The rockets will give my students the experience of learning how rocket science works. This will cover the science portion of the STEM. The STEM Career books will allow me to incorporate literature into my STEM program. The students can read and see the different careers that involve STEM knowledge.
The Real-World STEM challenge kit will be used to relate STEM with the real-world in hopes that it will also connect their background knowledge to the real-world challenges. The KNEX Building Simple Machines will give my students the understanding of how simple things can make work easier for us. This will take care of the E-engineering in STEM. The MACT transfer game will used as a ice breaker to give them their first challenge to five them an understanding that all challenges require teamwork. The Remote control machines lab involves the M-math and engineering, which will allow my students to see how math ans science are related. All of the above involve the S-Science, that's the reason STEM is everywhere.
