This project will use the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Book Deliver Program featuring the book 鈥淚f I Built a Car鈥 (a futuristic story about how a boy uses his imagination to build his dream car) to motivate students to plan, design, build, and evaluate their version of a futuristic automobile.
Students will be introduced to the world of automotive design using a collection of nonfiction books and local automotive experts. They will be given materials from the LEGO Education Wheels set and Lakeshore STEAM Car Kit to create new and innovative vehicles. With the support of parent volunteers and local experts, students will design, build, and present their version of a futuristic automobile.
This project will place resources into the hands of students, that will help them become innovative problem solvers, as they experiment, imagine, build and design automobiles for the future.
