My classroom centers are in need of more hands on activities that will encourage the students to interact with their peers and give my more challenging students a chance to take a positive lead in conversation. The Easy-View Science Specimens and Insect Specimen Center will help create conversation that will lead to knowledge, drawing, and writing of what they are witnessing. The specimens will bring the books on CD to life while the Science Viewers bring up-close photos of creatures that are all around us.
Playing enhances the learning environment. My students stay actively involved in learning centers such as Math, Science, Writing, Library, Technology, Creative Thought, and ABC. When my students come to my Guided Reading Group or are working independently through curriculum activities they are better prepared to actively listen because they were engaged in learning centers that gave them the sensory learning experience to better their input of knowledge. I'm very excited to bring the outdoors indoors with all the manipulates that I have chosen for my classroom. I'm excited to give this new learning experience to my students especially the ESL students and my student that is living with Autism. What a great opportunity to be able to record those future conversations.
