My students need books that will help them fall in love with reading. Graphic novels are the perfect solution! My students love the pictures, and I love the rich text! I only have a few graphic novels in my classroom library. The school library has a great selection. However, these books are constantly checked out. Having a wider variety in my own classroom would inspire my students to read more and increase their reading level. Graphic novels also encourage my students to have reader to reader conversations. They talk about the books and recommend them to their friends! What more could a teacher ask for!
