As a Language Arts teacher I have learned how important it is for children of all ages to read and read what they like. As a middle school teacher I see that there is a decline in independent reading. I want to be able to provide a current and diverse library to continue to foster a love for reading in all of my students.
I would love to create a stress-free reading environment where my students are free to choose the book of their liking regardless of reading or grade level. Therefore, all of the book will be added to my classroom library where the students will have access to check out and read the books. The books will not only be available for my students, but any student that wishes to check a book out.
As adults we choose what we want to read based on our interests. I want to instill that same ability in my classroom. Hopefully this inspires lifelong readers who read because they want to not because they have to.
