I teach 6th grade Language Arts in a low income community. My school district is in a financial crisis! We are unable to purchase any new materials. My students are interested in reading but it is difficult to get them excited about a book because all of our books either outdated and in poor condition. My students deserve the opportunity to read quality material that we help them expand not only their abilty to read but their view of the world.
