My 7th graders have center time each week in our Math classroom. We have centers dedicated to programs where students need to listen to videos as part of their "flip" classroom before they get to the teacher station. The headphones sets we have are easily to break and we have to borrow form one another to fulfill our needs. Soon we will have SBAC testing and students will need to use the headphones, unfortunately we don't have enough for all of our students.
My students are enthusiastic, eager to learn, and diverse in cultures and learning styles.
I have an integrated classroom with general education, special education, and ELL (English Language Learner) students. They are especially motivated by math content and they love activities that involve the multimedia experience. I have computers for my students that they can use for stations but I know my students would love and appreciate to have headphones to enhance learning and minimize distraction. It is empowering for students as they take charge of their learning experiences. I am so excited to see my students motivated and engaged on a whole new level through the use of the technology.
This project will absolutely make a difference in my math class and enhance students learning.
