My students are in great need of a strong, structured community and a place they can call their home. They would greatly benefit from having an easel and community carpet where they have their very own place for morning meetings, read aloud time, and mini-lessons.
This meeting spot will be the life center of our classroom. It provides my students a common place to learn, share their learning with others and a safe place that is the center of our classroom.
Having an easel and carpet allows for this classroom culture to grow and develop. It shapes and creates a positive learning environment for all! By having an easel, along with a community carpet, it will allow all my students that "home-base" where they can come up and display their learning for all their classmates!
