Flexible seating allows students to choose a space in the classroom to work - whether it be a space on the floor, standing at a table or sitting at a traditional desk. My students LOVE being able to chose the seat they can work best in! This project will allow me to expand student choices in which seats work best!
Flexible seating gives ALL students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them.
My classroom has recently had laminate flooring installed to replace the carpeting. This project the carpet tiles will allow students to have soft work areas around the room as they find the spots that work best for them as learners. The standing table and stool allows other options for students to work away from their traditional work areas.
This flexible seating environment encourages general education, special education and students with difficulty focusing to work in partnerships, communicate effectively, move around frequently, and engage in critical thinking more easily. Having seating options will continue to foster this environment by providing additional choices for students.
The ability to move around while working and while sitting has helped ALL of my students to be more attentive and focused. All of these materials will help my the students continue to work and grow in a flexible seating environment.
