Regular chairs do not promote movement or allow students to be as active as they need to be in order to stay focused on learning. Stools, bouncy bands, wobble chairs, balance balls, and rocker chairs will give my students the options to be active while still staying seated and focused.
Student needs are unique; seating should be just as unique: it should be comfortable, flexible, and responsive to student needs.
The flexible seating that I am interested in will allow my students wiggle, move, and release extra energy in ways that will be non-distracting to others. It will also give them options on which seating will best address their needs for the day: to bounce their legs, wiggle, and be comfortable.
