We are a small school in a fairly poor, rural school district. There are 388 students in grades 6-8, with nearly 70 percent of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch. Most do not enjoy reading. However, if I can get my students involved in a discussion that means something to them, they will participate and debate and dig deeper into the content.
