They come from a myriad of different cultures and backgrounds. Their abilities range from above grade level to far below grade level. Many of my students come from low income homes. Some have severe social/emotional/behavioral needs; others are new to this country and have a variety of English proficiency levels; and others just need that little extra support and push to "make the grade." Despite all their differences, they have one thing in common they are all working hard while trying to navigate the complexities of high school and a complex, global society.
