The Intensive Intervention Program, Next Steps, provides up to a full day of services to students with educational disabilities and co-occurring mental
health challenges who are in sixth through eighth grade. Steps is a partnership between the
school district (MMSD) and Family Service of Madison (FSM). IIP's Steps Program focuses on teaching skills
for managing emotions and coping with stress in addition to academic core instruction. Steps is an off-site
community based program. We start daily with a soft landing and Morning Meeting. We have built in movement breaks, academic classes, specials, and social/emotional learning throughout the day.
