With a Smartboard, students will be able to engage in active learning rather than passive learning. The Smartboard will allow students to get up and interact with the images or documents shown on the whiteboard. This will also help my students become more collaborative with one another. I see this smartboard being especially important for subjects like science and math, where there is an increased need for visuals and kinesthetic learning. Additionally, in reading and writing, students can participate in shared reading and students can obtain the much needed interactive repetition for mastery in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension. The smartboard is incredibly engaging for even the lowest of students to feel successful. It is a great tool for editing student writing and RTI interventions. This smartboard literally has endless possibilities in our kindergarten classroom.
