It is important for Kindergarten students to have a strong reading foundation when beginning how to read. Having the resources and books available to them gives them the chance to become strong readers. With the pandemic we as educators and students are learning a new way to learn. It has become difficult to find the resources students need to help them grow. I believe that students need to be able to read a book by holding it and investing their time to understand the content. My project will help students achieve this success that they need to begin reading. In my project I have asked for small reader books at different levels. I will be making a reading bag for each students depending on their level of reading. Each bag will have a different book each week. The more small readers I can get the better exposure my students will have at reading variety of content. On top of reading materials, students also need to be able to write down their ideas and make a prediction about a story. That is why I am asking for journals for my students. These journals will help students be able to write a short summary on what they have read and use illustration to show what they learn from reading.
