First graders were not meant to sit in a classical classroom chair for the majority of a school day; they need to move and get comfortable while also focusing on academic demands. Having a variety of seating options in the classroom that will fulfill their wiggle needs will help my students concentrate on the work they do each day. The wobble chairs and cushions will be used as seat choices during independent work times. By giving them a choice in their seating, I can foster student responsibility and autonomy. I can't wait to see my students in their flexible seating!!
