Our public charter school, composed of middle and high school students, strives to give students the skills they need to be successful as a citizen as well as a student. 78% of our students qualify for free or reduced meals. The teachers at this school are willing to go above and beyond to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Many of my students come from homes that are struggling economically. Our students have the determination to work hard in order to go to college and provide a better life for their families. Though our school is a STEM school, focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, students still need the adventure of young adult fiction to inspire and motivate them. Language Arts and Literature classes are necessary to improve reading, comprehension, and critical thinking across the curriculum.
