My students have an excitement for learning and technology. This year is my first year in which I have created a classroom Blog for students to post their writing and have their classmates engage in academic conversations with them. While we have a computer lab, the access is limited due to other classes having access as well. I currently have one iPad available for students to use in the classroom which you can imagine is difficult to manage with 24 students. Due to the fact that we are a school whose student population is 80% socioeconomically disadvantaged we do not benefit financially as more affluent schools do, therefore our students are at a technological disadvantage. They are intelligent and eager students who given the opportunity will flourish with more accessibility to technology. The creativity and collaboration that will come from using iPads in the classroom to create presentations will amaze their parents, the teacher, and the students.
