Our school consists of students grade PK4-5th grade. We are a community of learners with special education, ELL students, and high poverty. Students all have a love of hands-on and active movement in learning. Students have shown they are hungry for knowledge, eager to learn & absorb new information. Their hunger for knowledge has sent me on a search for materials to expand access to materials that will provide active movement and increase knowledge with Problem-based and deeper learning.
The high poverty neighborhood, home to these children, lacks access to high-interest materials at their readiness level. Students devoured our classroom library & need increased access to resources. In addition, they are learning to collaborate effectively & would benefit from additional resources for engaging morning meetings and math with a and focus on the Common Core Standards.
