Everyday my students participate in literacy centers to promote becoming a better reader. One of our literacy centers that is part of the Daily 5 is Listen to Reading. My students enjoy both reading and listening to stories, but unfortunately this week our CD player stopped working.
We will use this requested Classroom CD/Cassette Player and listening books, including The Mercy Watson Collection, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat!, Horton Hears a Who and Other Sounds of Dr. Seuss, and Snow Day!, to listen to stories and follow along with the book. This skill helps the students to become better readers, especially my students that are bilingual. It is vital that they not only learn how to read, but hear stories being read to them.
Listening to Reading is one of my students favorite centers of the day, so please help us to bring back our listening center!
