I teach wonderful students on Maui. They come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, which include Hawaiian, Filipino, Portuguese, Mexican, and Micronesian students as well as students who are mix of some or all of these beautiful cultures. They are polite, respectful, creative, passionate and each one deserves to be here and to embrace their potential for a happy life of purpose. My goal is to bring to all of my students the opportunity to read, write and think critically for self discovery, empowerment and enjoyment. I strive to foster a love of reading for my students and improve literacy though the exploration of authentic literature while developing valued academic skills as outlined in state standards, such as written and spoken expression.

About my class
