Soft pillows for the students to relax on rather than sitting on the uncomfortable hard wooden chairs will allow them to stretch out while reading. This fits in with the calming and inviting atmosphere being created in the Library. Not only will the elementary students benefit but so will our Middle School students. I often find them lying on the floor between the book shelves reading.
Reading is the best way to relax and during the time the students are in class with me, I want to help reduce the stress and anxiety levels they may be experiencing that day. Whether I have them first period or last, they look forward to their time in the Library with me.
