I will be starting my first year of teaching at the end of August. Right now, I am focused on creating a reading center for the children to be able to use. When you walk through the doors of a kindergarten classroom, you should immediately see the children playing and working with many different hands-on materials. Various centers should be set up around the classroom for students to explore. I think having a cozy reading center with a carpet and cozy floor seats for the children is important because it gives them a place to go to promote different areas of growth in young children. Having different learning centers allows the children to develop appropriately.
