I work in a low income area. My students come from families of single parents who are often busy working 2 jobs. The parents of my students don't have the means to assist with classroom donations. My students are hungry to read, but I don't have enough material to share with all of the Kindergartners. At reading centers, groups of 4 are often asked to share one book with each other because I don't have the means to buy multiple titles.
