Classroom management and organization are extremely important in creating a productive environment for responsive student learning. Providing an uncluttered environment is a building block of a space that welcomes students and supports their learning.
All the items on our classroom list were selected specifically with the goal of providing clear guidance and autonomy for each of my students. I will provide tools that will set up my students for success. One way I will encourage student independence is by allowing them to use the class printer to make copies of any material they will need. Many of my students do not have internet access at home, and for them to be able to print or make copies of materials/resources such as a dictionary will greatly increase their chances of being successful in the classroom.
The clear file holder bins will be assigned to each student for them to place their writing journals, class folders, notebooks, and other materials they will use daily. The clear bins will help our transitions from content to content and be more efficient with the easily accessed materials all in one place. I have color coded their writing journals by placing a specific colored tape strip on the spine of each journal for each content taught, and the clear bins would be perfect in making our transitions quicker which will maximize our instructional classroom time.
I need all the resources I can receive in order to continue to provide a well-organized classroom for my students to be successful. By providing a clutter-free classroom, my students will be able to focus on their learning.
