Welcome to STEAM!
Steam learning is an economic imperative. Experts say that technological innovation accounted for almost half of U.S. economic growth over the past 50 years, and almost half of the 30 fastest-growing occupations in the next decade will require at least some background in STEM. Innovation remains tightly coupled with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. However, Art + Design are poised to transform our economy in the 21st century just as science and technology did in the last.
The STEAM class aims to address content standards in science, technology, engineering, art and math in an incorporated, practical, real world context. Creativity and communication will be critically integrated throughout each lesson. We will use a variety of materials to create hands on learning activities.
Students will be experiencing the following:
Connections, frustrations, fun, and becoming engineers.
