The materials I choose for my project, specifically the IQ Builder Set will promote my students to actively explore, observe, interact, and discover, which are important in their development. The Snowflake blocks will encourage scientific inquiry while being exposed to the concepts of physics and engineering at a young age. Students will create and problem solve while exploring these tools while improving their hand-eye coordination as well. The 15-bin Rolling Storage Organizer will help my students keep the tools organized and easy to access. Using hands on materials to educate my children about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) will enhance their inquiry skills required to be successful in their education. While using the materials children will also have the opportunity to share and interact with their peers which is key in developing social emotional skills.
