Access to books! My students come from homes where there few books, and not enough time to sit down and read. A listening library (all-in one CD player) would help them grow as independent readers. Having a variety of books to start with will help me implement the listening center right away. Learning to read fluently by third grade has proven to set kids up for success. Getting them to love reading is the easiest way to accomplish this goal. By giving them access to high quality books I am hoping to foster a love of learning to read, and reading itself. Please help me give the gift of success!
