With patience and an open mind, my students successfully comprehended 鈥淭ell-Tale Heart.鈥 Continuing this momentum by providing my students with great novels is imperative. Novels from different time periods do not have to be impossible to understand. To maximize learning, we need individual copies of 鈥淎 Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur鈥檚 Court,鈥 so they can read anywhere. Access to this classic story will help us in our quest for literacy! My students will become active thinkers through reading and discussions. Keeping a log of their thoughts and discussions in the spiral notebooks will help my students to become more engaged with the written word.
