My twenty-five first grade students attend an inner city public school in Illinois. They come from a variety of language and cultural backgrounds and embrace their uniqueness each and every day. Many of the students at our school are economically disadvantaged, with approximately 82% of the students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Our school is committed to celebrating diversity, meeting the needs of all students through differentiated instruction, and maintaining high expectations for all.
