Hands-on learning is essential, especially in the science classroom. I would like to have these balances so my students can measure the mass of everyday objects and learn how to correctly read the balance, so they can use this information in their investigations. This is something they have to know for the science STAAR exam, so practicing this skill is crucial. I would use them in science stations around the room, and also utilize them in classroom investigations throughout the year. Their faces light up when they get to actually experience a concept hands-on!
