When someone comes into my classroom they may notice the fun student work displayed around the room, or observe that there are 32 students in a pretty tight space; some might even be drawn to the high volume of student discussion. But one thing stands out the most in my classroom and that is the atmosphere of love and acceptance.
As a general education English teacher, I teach a wide variety of students. A good majority of my students are athletes, actors, musicians, and are involved in extracurricular activities. Because of the variety of students in my classroom, I try to engage as many learning styles as I can. On any given day, someone might hear a Taylor Swift song blaring from my room to help teach my auditory learners how to find text evidence to prove a claim. I absolutely love this makeup of students as I enjoy encouraging my students both out on the field/court and in the classroom.
