My goal is for my students to capture their observations and spend more time expressing their thoughts and findings as they take pictures of their investigations.
We need three cameras, three memory card, photo paper and ink for our printer to capture their observations through pictures and videos as they explore the world around them during science lab. These tools (cameras) will allow my students to emulate real scientists. Communication is a vital aspect of the process of science. Students will be able to develop ideas about the world around them from evidence that they have collected and developed themselves.
This will allow my students to strengthen language skills as they link their experiences together and learn to collect, analyze information and develop new ideas. I will facilitate my students as they capture what they find. They will print their pictures immediately and insert them into their science journals where they can write about their thoughts and observations.
The cameras will allow the opportunity to take ownership of their learning. Their photos/videos will enhance their understanding of science content. The pictures will also encourage making evidence-based explanations of their investigations as they record facts, reflections, questions, predictions, and conclusions.
