Students who utilize the library Makerspace need their own tables to create, seating (stools) to collaborate, and storage bins for their project materials including Sphero robots, art supplies, games, and 3-D print materials. As the number of students utilizing the space continues to grow, so does the need.
Makerspace activities require a workbench, stools, and storage bins to house student materials. The time spent at school should include hands on activities that interest students as an extension of their classes; Makerspaces allow for this.
These projects spark new ways to use STEAM related skills and tap into individual student talents. Some they knew they had and some they are just discovering.
