I am the only Physical Education teacher at my school, I teach over 850 students from grades K-5. We are a title 1 school and many of my students come from low income homes. My students are energetic and excited to learn. They love when I turn my Physical Education curriculum into games and competitions where they can challenge themselves. I love making games and activities more engaging and safe. My focus with this group of children is teamwork and sportsmanship. I want them to learn how to get along with others, to be kind and respectful to each other all the time, but especially during exciting competitive games. They always try their best and they do not give up. I feel that I am teaching life skills in my class, not just physical education. My hope is that students will learn how to be happy, healthy humans who care about others.
