I teach in a high need community with a low tax base. Therefore, there are not a lot of funds coming in. Since I am a new first grade teacher, I am looking for ways to make my small classroom cozy/comfy for my 33 plus students. Common Core standards are challenging the teachers to find new and innovative ways to raise our students thinking skills. Great concept, little funding for new materials. I will continue to research new and innovative ways to enable my children to learn daily.
