In El Deafo, students will hear a story of a girl who turns her struggles (of being deaf) into strengths. This will give my students an opportunity to see another type of challenges people can have and how they are able to overcome them in a positive way.
With these books, we will be able to look at the challenges that we may struggle with everyday. Allowing us to examine how we can overcome or work with these obstacles and have a growth mindset. Better yet, it will help us learn ways we can help one another and have a positive impact.
