I am a third grade teacher in Kentucky. I work at a school where over 50% of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Many live below the poverty line and do not have access to books at home, especially nonfiction books. While some of my students come from tough backgrounds, I believe all students are capable of learning when given the right tools, and I have high expectations for all of them.
