My 480 students come from many different countries and speak many languages. Learning art techniques and art vocabulary is so important to developing active reading and visual literacy skills. In the Art Room, my students create incredible artworks. Through the art making process, students learn to express feelings, build skills, and foster a culture of caring.
The students in my school are eager to learn new skills and ideas. They are very creative and highly engaged learners. They thrive on new information, materials and concepts. They push the boundaries of their art education as far as they can.
These beautiful and smart children are so capable of sharing their stories with their classmates. Working and talking together throughout the creative process, my students use language to discuss their work. This communication strengthens the students' connections to their learning and to each other.
