Many of my students were born and raised here in Buffalo NY, just like their parents; but the majority of our school's students are learning English as a second language, which includes many refugee families. Our students come from various countries; such as Burma, Thailand, Afghanistan, Rwanda and the Congo, just to name a few. Most, if not all of our students qualify for free lunches, and are enrolled in a "Backpack Program" that provides food for the weekend. Our students have such diverse backgrounds and home life, and come together to share the same school environment every day. They are an energetic group who learn best by doing, experiencing, and being involved! We do our best to provide everything they need, because every child deserves the chance to succeed.
