We have a growing Ell population - these students have parents that are illiterate in English and are unable to read to their children. My students are eager to learn and want to become "good readers". Students would benefit from hearing books on CD/cassettes. The listening center would provide an opportunity for all students to have books read aloud to them. This is a great for all learners, it builds fluency and a love for reading.
