The students I work with are visual and tactile learners- they learn by doing! Math is a favorite subject for many, but is often a hard concept to grasp. Base 10 blocks, counters, place value cards, multiplication games, and fraction pieces will help them to SEE and FEEL the concepts. High interest reading material on various levels, vocabulary cards, grammar match up games, and reading comprehension materials will help my students master grade level content and prepare for the third grade AIR test. Although my students are all very different in their ability levels, they have one thing in common: they learn best through a multi-sensory approach. See it- Feel it- Say it- Think it- Do it! Almost all of the materials on my list will be able to be used year after year, with a variety of students in grades K-3. By supporting this project, you are creating an opportunity to bring real-world, hands on applications to hundreds of students in our community!
