Our school is located in the heart of Orange County with a diverse student population who come from various socioeconomic backgrounds and family support systems. A majority of my students have a wide range of learning needs and speak a second language at home. They are so eager to have technology in the classroom to be successful as lifelong learners as they do not have the opportunity to access any form of technology at home. To be successful in the 21st century world today, my students need to be exposed to different mediums of technology and the iPad could help my kinesthetic students to make learning meaningful by going over vocabulary skills, math fact families, and phonics skills which they need to be successful for the rest of their lives. If our class had an iPad, my students would be engaged as they would find the learning as a literal hands on activity.
