I am a public school teacher in a large district that has been experiencing drastic cuts to funding on a variety of fronts for a number of years now. Nevertheless, my 1st grade students come to school each day with the spirit and determination to learn. They are curious and inquisitive individuals who thrive when challenged with appropriate curriculum and learning materials. They have such a joy for learning. I teach a 1st grade dual language. We learn in both English and Spanish.
