My students can become engaged through the use of technology in the classroom. My students will use the iPads during reading, all content areas for instruction, arts integration, investigation, and to check for understanding. In reading, my students can create and animate stories, use freckle (an app that allows me to assign based on a child's reading level and allows them to choose based on their interests) and complete various research projects. In math, my students can practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division fluency through various apps as well as apply knowledge to visual arts. In science and social studies, my students can research, complete web-quests, and interact with hands-on labs. These iPads will reach students in my creative writing club as well allowing them to create poetry, get new ideas, and spell difficult words. Children in this technology driven world need technology to engage and excite them! I will use these iPads in whole class and small group instruction as well as during stations.
